Knowing her family and how they feel about her, Christy had to be someone very, very special.  I'm sorry I wasn't able to meet and get to know her.  My heart goes out to her family for their loss - my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

DAN AND fAMILY,
  I feel so blessed to have known Cristy, even if it was for such a short time, I have known many people in my life and a very few are so stand out as Cristy, from the very first time Karen and I came into the class where she was teaching we felt such a love for her, she is and was such an example of what a true follower of Christ is, and we could feel his sprit with her.
  I know I don't stand alone in saying that she will be missed so much, I will never forget her, and look forward to the day we can see one another again.

Dear Duke Family;
       I have just learned of the passing of your sweet and lovely wife/mother/sister/friend. I am saddened that her warm spirit has finished its work in this world, only to be utilized beyond the veil. I can't begin to tell each of you how much I learned from your mother as we partnered as Visiting Teaching companions. Christy was a "one of a kind" type of woman. She had such an enormous understanding of the scriptures and of Heavenly Father's plan for
each of us on our earthly journey here that I paled in comparison (as most all
of us did). Her testimony was the strongest I have ever heard from a LDS woman, always accompanied by the spirit, always spoken in love and guidance.
Perhaps the lesson I learned most from your wife/mother was the miracle of prayers. Your wife/mother believed that all things were possible through our Savior Jesus Christ. She knew that through the use of prayer mixed with fasting, answers would come, promptings of the spirit would enlighten our road, and that peace would reside in our hearts. I will remember her most for this lesson and her testimony of these concepts. This got me through my oldest son's brain surgery and beyond, in numerous struggles along my own life's journey.
I will also remember Christy for her twinkling eyes, her vivacious smile,
her true love of mankind and her leadership ability in our church as our Relief
Society President.  She loved the sisters so much and worked so hard to ensure excellence in each and every RS lesson, meeting, home-making night, and program. This reminds me of another valuable lesson she also taught me.
Worried that sisters in the ward were not doing their part for a program we were preparing, I expressed my fears to your mother that the program might not
end with a successful conclusion. Your wonderful mother smiled at me and said; "Suzanne, this is the Lord's program. The Lord is in control here, not you. If you give this project 100% of your devotion, he will do the rest-he always does." Needless to say, the program came together at the last minute with a huge turnout. It was probably one of the best programs we had ever had for the women in our ward and a lesson I will never forget. I never worry now about putting programs together-I know I am only assisting the Lord in his work.
Please know how much Christy loved each and ever one of you. She constantly talked about you with me with such pleasure in her heart for your accomplishments and your individual spiritual growth. I know she will receive the highest of praises now that she has returned home to her Father in Heaven, her work here done well ~     Sister Suzanne Myers
