We were your neighbors when you lived on G street here.  And have many fond memories of the Oliver family!  Carole was a dear friend, and would come over to get away from all the teens in her house and come fold diapers at our house.  I would go over to get away from the babies, and enjoy being around all the teens!
We had some great times with Dick and Carole, and the girls babysat with our 3, Ronnie, Darcey, and baby Stacey, who turns 39 tomorrow!  Does that make you feel old Lori and Deanna?  I wish I had known the Olivers lived so close.  I lived in CdA for awhile before moving back to Spokane and somewhat in the same neighborhood 4 yrs ago.  I walk past our old house, Aunt Marys house, your house, and have good memories..
Carole was one great gal!  I shall always remember her.  Love to all of you...Ron and Sue

I didn't know Carole personally, but I knew her son Keith and his wonderful daughter Kara.  I'm so glad that God blessed this earth with Carole, so that her legacy could continue...because of her, I found the sister I've always wanted, Mrs. Kara McCollum.  Thank you, Carole.  May God Bless you and hold you with his highest angels, and may your son Keith greet you on the pathway there.

I will always remember Nana with the fondest memories. I remember when Jeremy and Nana raced in chairs pushing away from a wall at Karas wedding. I will also remember her kindness and the love that she shared with her family and friends. She will always be with us. She lives on through the children, grandchildren, and Great grandchildren. We will miss her dearly. However, she has left a wonderful leagacy to carry on.

Growing up I loved the times when we could meet up with family. Auntie "Squeak" and Uncle Dick and their "kids" were some of our favorites to visit. Auntie Carole always had at least three sewing projects in the works, not to mention the completed projects that we could see adorning their home. She and I shared a love for cats and she always would introduce the current members of the family. I remember her laughing at a joke, a shared remembrance or something that one of we kids had done and were embarrassed about. She had a terrific laugh. Though she had a will of steel, she always made room for "just one more" at the table and made everyone feel comfortable. She will be in my heart forever.

Did you know that for the longest time I never knew who the "Carole" person was that my mom always talked about. That was because Neil, Janet and I only knew her as "Auntie Squeak". We always looked forward to our time hanging out with the Oliver's. I remember that "Auntie Squeak" had the most infectious laugh. Her personality and sense of humor just seam to draw people to her. I have often been disappointed over the years that I have allowed distance to become a deterrent from being closer to her and her family. I know that my family enjoyed our visits with her, however infrequent. I am truly saddened by Carole's passing, but this will not overshadow the joy I will keep in my heart and the wonderful memories I will always have of the time I spent with "Auntie Squeak" and the Oliver family. We love and miss her greatly.

What a beautiful tribute to your Mother.

Dear Dick,
Bud had emailed me on the 17th telling me that Carole was failing and the end was near.  I was surprised, as I knew you had been ill, but didn't realize that she also was ill.
Sorry we never had the opportunity to meet her, but are grateful to her for supporting you in your attendance at the reunion.  I had corresponded with a number of Lucy Ann and Henry K.'s descendants over time - mainly Bud - and had always wanted to meet some of them.  Luckily we had that opportunity when Bud's mother and stepfather were able to attend the national Leavitt reunion in Salt Lake City. Then were lucky again when you were able to attend the Gunlock Reunion. It was a pleasure to meet you and have fond memories of that time as I hope you do also.  Another big event (for descendants of Jeremiah II and Sarah Sturtevant Leavitt) will be held August 30th in
Santa Clara to commemorate Sarah's 210th birthday.  I will email you info about it later.  Maybe we will be luck again and you will be there.
We mourn with you in your loss - please accept our condolences and know that our prayers are with you.
Please take care of yourself!
Love,
Faye & Grand Leavitt

Thank you so much for sending this video.  It was so good to see all the pictures.  Uncle Dick and Aunt Carole were very kind and generous to me and my family.  We all had a great time when Dick and Carole and all of their kids came to visit us in Santa Maria.  I will always remember when my sister Linda and I got to ride the train to visit them in Southern California.  I was seriously considering leaving Linda there and taking Lori home with me.

We are so glad that Dick and Carol stopped by to visit us when they were in CA a couple of years ago.  We had such a good time catching up on all the news and remembering all the great/crazy times we've had together.  From KenDO Industries to playing penny poker.  We will always remember Carol's great cooking, loving heart, and great laugh.  We love her and she will truly be missed.

Our love to the family.  Squeak(Carol)was a wonderful sister and a wonderful friend.  We had our differences, but we were always happy when we could get together and talk over old times.  Whenever Dick was sent to a different base, we always went to visit.  That's how we got into traveling.  From Rapid City to Atwater to  Spokane.  We loved to visit Squeak and Dick when they lived in Hoodsport.  She loved her husband of 56 years, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren & her kitty's.  We will deeply miss her, but have so very many beautiful memories of a beautiful lady. God has her now. She is at peace and suffers no more.  Robert and I love you sister Squeak.

Auntie Squeak was a wonderful woman.  She will be missed so very much.  I (Janet) always felt a little bit special, as she and I shared our birthdays.  She had a giggle to match no others.  It was infectious.  We were so lucky to share in her life. To my cousins, we are thinking of you.  To Uncle Dick...We love you and send our prayers.  We are at ease knowing that she is now at peace and watching over us from above.  WE love you all.  Many hugs & many kisses sent your way.  Jan
