We remember Bill so well from the store.  Bob still has two jackets he purchased there, one from 1960.  That jacket is still in good shape, along with the one from the 1970's.  Those Pendleton shirts and jackets just never wore out!!!  Always friendly, always a gentleman.  Our condolences go out to Jean and the family.

My parents, Gene and Wilma Surplus went to school with Bill. When I was a young girl growing up we lived on Mill Street near the Gibbs Mercantile. We walked down the hill to the store every week and bought our groceries.  My brother and I loved going because Bill always kept penny candy and comic books that he let us read while our mother shopped. He was always wonderful to us.  I can still close my eyes and remember where everything was in the store. I always remember seeing him in the 4th of July parade on the Shriner's bike. My parents went to school with Bill and thought he was a wonderful person.  My condolences to the family.  Paula Surplus Scott

Leigh LeGore, a gentleman personified!  The good Lord will welcome him with open arms.  He was my closest friend in Idaho for many years.  Was always cheerful and good natured ready to help in an instant if needed.
He would stop by our home in Fernan Village frequently just to say hello and more often when one of us was sick.  Whenever I looked for him he was somewhere helping, Salvation Army, the hospital, museums, everywhere.  His service to the Masons, Shrine, and Jesters extended for more than 50 years as he communicated continually scheduling with the members who were grateful to receive his constant efforts.
He always said he could keep well by being active and helping others.  Leigh should have lived to be 200.
His lovely wife Jean and children are well aware of his constant devotion to help others. What a gentleman! What a life!  "Gratitude is the memory of the heart"
There will be many hearts thankful for having been touched by him.   Goodbye Leigh we'll hope to see you later.      Jerry Garrott

I didn't know your Dad well, but he has just always been "here"! And whenever I did see him, he was smiling:) I know he lived the long life he did (considering his previous heart procedures) because of the excellent care provided by Jean and his family. Will sure miss "Pop the ol' dust mop!" (to paraphrase Becky). Our love and prayers to you all. Marcy, Rick, Molly, Daniel, Max

I've know Bill since the 1960's at Lake City Lanes. Most of my contacts with Bill involve bowling and I was also a customer at Gibb's Mercentile. Bill bowled on our team for many years at Sunset too. Bill was the man with the answer if it involved bowling. I am surprised to learn we share the same birthday, just I'm a little younger! To the LeGore family I send my condolences and prayers. Bill will be a missed man for everyone who knew him. God Bless you Bill.

I remember my folks taking me to your store when I was young, but what I remember the most was your involvement with bowling.  You sponsored so many teams and helped so many of us get involved, we all owe you a big thank you.  How you managed your involvement in so many other organizations will always fascinate me.  Your assistance and guidance at the local bowling association level as well as your friendship which grew during the many state bowling meetings will truly be missed.

Over the past 5 years, I had the privelege of meeting and working with Leigh as a Volunteer at Kootenai Health Center.  He had many more years of Volunteer service than I.

Leigh's generous smile and soft chuckle were given to all who entered and without reservation.

He adored Jean and once told me--of all the blessings he had been given, meeting her and her marrying him was
first on the list.

The community has lost a truly great man whose strengths
were hidden by his kindness, generousity, and humility.

Farewell Leigh! Our gratitude and love is with family.

My sincere condolences to Leigh's family.  A wonderful gentleman and so involved in activities to help others.

I knew Leigh through the state bowling from the first tournament in Lewiston until last fall.  I lived in Moscow and was part of the "Yankee" group to include North Idaho in Idaho State bowling in 1967.  After moving to Nampa and going to meetings and tournaments, it has always been a genuine pleasure to visit with Leigh and recall how he was so instrumental in getting the involvement of the Cd'A group in the state organization.  His name became "the Silver Fox" as he would have others involved and committed to the organization before they knew what hit them.

We also had a common friend in Al and Polly Parisot, due to his daughters and their daughters interactions.

May his health struggles be at rest and so also may Leigh be at rest, a very good man.  I am proud to say that I knew him and considered him a friend.  RIP.

I will always remember Uncle Bill as someone who had a smile on his face (at least when I was around). When I was about 5 or 6 I took a couple pieces of candy at Uncle Bill's store.  Of course I didn't understand that somebody (myself or Uncle Bill) had to pay for that candy. I thought Uncle Bill's stuff was free.  I remember being repremanded for this act of unintentinal shoplifting.  But Uncle Bill reprimanded me in such a gentle and positive way.  I actual learned a valuable lesson that day that I still adhere to today.
It was so nice to see Uncle Bill and Jean (and the girls and their families) the last two summers. I hope we can continue this anual tradition although it won't be quite the same not having Uncle Bill there.
I sincerely hope and pray that Uncle Bill's family and friends experience a measure of peace and comfort even in this difficult time.  I'm sure God and Uncle Bill are smiling down on you all with Love.  Blessing, Jeff LeGore

Bill has always had a special place in my heart.  From my early memories of going to the store and getting a "treat" to the time I spent working for him.  I learned from Bill in his firm and fair manner, how to deal with people and give each person the respect they deserved as a customer.  Your family is your legacy and yours Bill, would make any man proud.  As I know you were of them.  Goodbye and God Bless you Bill.

My dad was Clair (Johnny) Johnson & I remember Daddy taking me as a little girl to Gibb's Merchantile to see Bill. My father died a good many years ago, but when I saw the name here, it brought back a lot of memories of growing up in Cd'A. And Mr. LeGore was one of the many names I associate with 'home'. My condolences to the family.  Hope your dad & mine are bowling in a great league somewhere, where the lanes are fast, the waitresses pretty & the beer is cold!

Leigh was one of the really good ones, there's no question about it.  I remember my dad, Tom Emerson, taking me by Gibbs Merchantile to get a pair of the best winter whatevers every year.  Leigh was an institution and a friend who always had a good word for everyone.  Later, the sidewalk conversations I had with him brought brightness to my day whenever we chanced to talk.  In winter when he said "Why would I want to be anywhere else than right here in the most beautiful place on earth?" I knew why this is a great town. . .  People like Leigh Legore make it so.  He will be missed, but remembered fondly. Sandy Emerson
