It is hard to picture a world without Randy in it. He's been a huge part of our lives for so long and his presence will be missed. Mamma Pat and Randy have been a second set of parents for us Chiappes for a long time and we took for granted that it would always be that way. Randy was your go to guy if you needed anything and he was always ready with a smile. Randy has been there for all our momentous and sometimes sad occasions; quietly standing beside us lending support. He was a devoted husband and a proud father who loved with all his heart.

These last couple of days have been filled with lots of memory sharing and smiling about things long in the past and stories about just last week but in all the smiling and laughing there has been a dull void that cannot be filled. I thank God that we have had so many wonderful "Randy Chappell" memories from back to our first years living in Idaho and up to our time together in March and April doing what Randy loved to do...cruising. A truer friend and part of our family we could never have found and we are blessed to have had you with us for the time we did. Vai con Dio Randy.

While I was trying to think of my fondest memory, I found a theme that stood out more than just the memories. Randy always had the ability to make me truly smile. The first memory was when he sang, "That's Amore," to Holly and me in front of the all the people at the Italian Festival. Now that was more along the lines of an embarrassed smile, but a smile still the same. The next was while we were planning for the cruise and Randy talked about getting a set of bell bottom pants made so he could wear them on the Lido deck. I remember smiling and thinking, "Oh man, I cannot wait to see that!" Towards the end of the cruise we went to see a comedian that missed the punchlines  a little more than hit them, but that did not stop Randy from having a good time. It was all Randy could do to stay in his seat from laughing, doing that quite laugh he had with the faint exhale and slapping his leg with one hand. I just remember smiling watching Randy enjoy himself, but that was the point. I only knew Randy for a short time, but from what I did know, he always enjoyed himself and the enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. I hold dear the smiles and memories that I was able to share with Randy.

Randy was a GREAT guy. He will be missed by everyone whos life he touched.  He loved Patty dearly and got up on stage in front of hundreds of people at our Italian Festa to sing to her for her birthday. It was just last week that Randy was telling me stories of the recent cruise. It was so evident how much he enjoyed spending  time with friends and family. I was impressed with how Randy was always up for a good time and how he tried to experience all that this life could offer. His life was a lesson for us all, to enjoy life to its fullest.
I will also miss his sweet and thoughtful personality. If he knew of some little thing that could possibly make your life easier-he could hardly wait to share it. We will miss him.
