So sorry for your loss. I had visited Carmen last month and did the tax
reduction plan for her. (circuit breaker) We visited then but she wasn't
as good as last year when I called on her. She talked about Jim and Joan
and her beloved grandson. She was so proud of him and her family. It
is always hard to loose a parent. There is a place in your hart that leaves and
never fills back up even tho we have all the wonderful memories of our lives
together. God Bless your family at this sad time.

Dear Servick Family, It was a surprise to me to hear about Carmen when I came to
Santa Cruz to be with my Mum, only 4 days before she passed away, almost exactly
a month ago. It was a very special time for me to be with her when I could care
for her instead of the other way around.
Even though we live in opposite parts of the world, the fact
that we are family is more present to me than ever. I especially cherish my
sisters and brothers more than ever as I know Mum cherished her's.
My memories of Coeur d' Alene are still very
clear today, even though it's been 50 years. We watched Sputnik from Carmen's
front yard!
Though we all feel sad at this time, if we
look around the corner, there is something to make us glad too. We are having
our first grandchild in September!
Just remember, your family extends
all the way across the world to Australia.
With a loving heart, Judy
Bobroff including Peter, Sam, Rebecca, and Beth. Peter's father-Orest Bobroff,
and Sadie (Edmonds) Bobroff and brother Paul Bobroff.

Jim and Joan,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I tried to stop in several times a year
and it was so good to see her. I have great memories of the ol' St Maries Ave
neighbor hood. I think she was my first babysitter. I think about stopping in at
Pool Motors to see her and going to Fowlers Cafe for lunch. Also her
passion for JFK when he first ran for president. The funny things you
remember. Best Regards, Mike Earin

Dear Joan and Family:
I was saddened to hear of your mother's death. I have so many memories of
you, her and brother Jim. I spent a lot of time at the house during our
high school years.
I was thinking of you and her (probably a day or two either side of her death)
and I drove down St. Maries to see if I could recognize the house (I did).
Her presence was felt strongly.
Beverly

I've never heard Carmen say anything negative about another person; she would
always look for the good and was always happy with her life. Carmen always
looked to the future; she wanted to see what tomorrow would bring.
We had many talks about Carmen's family and how she was pleased to see Joan and
Bob do so well in their marriage, family, and now retirement, and being able to
travel. She would update me on how they were doing on the farm their different
trips they would take researching the family history. She also would look
forward to their visits and always said how much Bob would help her with things;
she always had a list.
Carmen was just amazed on how dedicated and passionate Amy has been with her
studies. She was proud. Carmen was having a great time following Amy with her
studies and her time she spent in Norway.
We talked about Seth and his work in the union. She was proud about his
hard-earned respect of supervisors and how he continued with his education.
Carmen was excited to hear that Seth had taken his exam for law school and
passed.
Carmen was happy to have been able to go to Seth and Anna's wedding. She could
only say good things about Anna and how she fit perfectly into the family.
Carmen was a wonderful person! I remember her most for her honesty and life
examples. We had many wonderful times together talking and she would listen and
never judge me. She would share a personal experience and this lead me to make
many decisions for myself. If it were the wrong choice she would never tell me
she would just listen and find another way to give advice in a subtle way.
I sure miss going and spending time together. We had many heart to hearts, it
was a good release for me. Carmen was my best friend; I will always respect her
and pass on the good examples she has set in my everyday life.
To sum up my feelings for "My Little Carmen" she was the most
wonderful, least judge-mental, warm hearted woman I've had the pleasure of
knowing. Carmen left a legacy of kindness and good. Money didn't matter, it was
how you lived everyday - be good - do good if we live everyday happy and curious
to see what is next, then she will live on in our hearts. I know she has planted
many seeds of wisdom. We joked many times how I would pass on her tid bits of
advice by saying "Carmen Says" Someone who lived 88 years had plenty
of knowledge to pass on. Carmen would tell me if I kept telling people
"Carmen said" they would start to not like her. She wasn't a know it
all she just knew a lot. Carmen knew the things she said were with good reason
and meaning. So for me it's still okay if I tell people "Carmen Said"
and pass on her legacy.
With loving memories,
Nicole Angel
