Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Reception will follow the service at the funeral chapel. Private family burial will be at Saltese Cemetery in Spokane Valley, WA.

    I know you all will miss Ivan. I can just see him, whole and healthy again, having a big reunion in Heaven with the ones he loves!!
   I have been Amy's friend since we were 14, and I remember all the little Volkswagen bugs Ivan had! It seems like most of his kids drove one at one time or another! He was always fixing them up when they would break down. I especially remember a little yellow one Amy named Herbie. We drove the heck out of that poor thing! It saw us through many adventures, in part, because Ivan always knew how to keep it running!
   I am glad that your family has the absolute assurance that you'll be together again someday. I hope this gives you comfort.

Jo and Family,

I am so saddened by the loss of Ivan. He was a wonderful man and very loved by all of us. I cherish the times spent at our home group,at church functions and gatherings at my parents house (Tom & Jean Gilmore)sharing with him and listening to all his stories. Thank you for sharing your video of Uncle Ivan with me. My favorite memories were when the Cain family would come out to North Dakota every summer. Even that crazy road trip i took with you from Bismarck to Spokane in the back of that VW bus! I know I have not seen or talked to many of you since Rick's wedding back in the early 80's. I just wanted you all to know that my thoughts are with you all and Uncle Ivan!

A gentler man we have never known. What can we say but thank you Lord for Ivan Cain. I have known Ivan in so many capacities from the dad of Yvonne,a dear friend, to a man who has faithfully supported my husband and I on the mission field. I will so miss his sweet, genlte hugs and that smile that could melt anyone's heart! We look forward to the day we will see Him again! Our prayers are with you Jo, and all of you kids. We know he leaves a real hole.
