Ray's Family:
I knew Ray through square dancing with the Coeurly Q's. I was a single
dancer so he was kind enough to dance with me when Ruth wasn't able to.
We even took plus (advanced) lessons together. I also visited with them
at their home in Post Falls, they were both very special people who will
be remembered for a long time. He always had interesting stories to tell
about his work for the government. My condolences in his passing.

Dear Daddy,
You are finally back with your beloved wife, and your Lord and Savior.
Aren't you glad Donna got you to read the entire Bible before you arrived
there?
I know I am late in sending this memorial up to you. We've had our time
together, and I remember them fondly. From the father/daughter fishing
and camping trips to the tougher days toward the end of your life.
You certainly had us fooled. We were thinking you'd make it to 100
years, even during the days we spent with you on your 94th birthday this
year... just over a month before you passed on. We had no idea you were
that close to your last day. We were stunned to get "the phone
call", needless to say.
It's been some time since all that happened, and I am still grieving more than
I thought I would. Just writing this chokes me up! I know you were
more than ready to go, and I celebrate the fact that you are now with your
family, Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt May... as well as with Mother. Give
them all a big hug for me. I miss all of you dearly.
Okay. I used to be a pretty good writer (I got a little of the talent
from Mother) but I am just rambling on right now. I guess it's probably
time for me to say I LOVE all of you and am looking forward to seeing you
again when the Lord decides it is the right time.
Love from Karen, Jon, Greg, Brooke, Paige, Scott, Dylan Bree, and Mike

Hope this is still possible to write some memories of Uncle Ray here. From my
youngest memories, Uncle Ray was a very respected, interesting part of our
family. His military connection seemed very honorable and fascinating.
The visits to our farm that I remember seemed to be most often in the spring
at Easter. It was amazing to have Uncle Ray & Aunt Ruth and Donna
and Karen, who definitely seemed like city folks come to visit us country
people. Uncle Ray always seemed much more proper than our relaxed, easy
going lifestyle. Our family's trip to visit Uncle Ray & fam at Ft.
Riley, Kansas, is among my earliest memories of travel with my family.
Actually this was one of the few trips that we ever took so it was always
remembered as very special. I remember the "mountain" in their back
yard and a gift of a yellow or red children's 45 record at our place setting
and playing with the girls. There were always touches of Uncle Ray in
Grandma Bohner's home and I always knew that he was a very attentive and much
loved son. Uncle Ray was very faithful in mailing Christmas cards even
in his very late years. I knew through tons of nature slides and Uncle Ray's
wonderful stories when I spent alot of time listening while in Sacremento at
Aunt May's that Uncle Ray led a very interesting life and was very astute at
living life to its fullest. Fun knowing how he enjoyed square dancing! I
love you Uncle Ray and am so grateful that Mom and I got to spend that awesome
week in Coeur d'Alene with you and Donna & Karen! Thank you for your
generosity......thank you for your company! Friends forever! Love
always in Christ Jesus Who IS love, Jerre & Glenn Mays Hastings, NE.
