Grandma was a big part of my life growing up. We spent most summers at grandma and grandpa's house. I would say grandma was the strongest person I have ever known. I wished I had one percent of the talent she had. From the bowling, golfing and painting she did she was blessed with such great skills.I can say that her family's houses are all covered in her paintings. I can remember her trying to show Rusty, Dan and I how to play golf even if we had to help her stand there to show us how to hold a golf club. One thing I have learned no matter how bad things get we just need to fight and try something else. I will miss her very much but I know in my heart that she is with grandpa and is no longer in pain and is happy again. I will miss grandma and I hope she knows how much we loved her.

Dear Sally, Tom and Family,
We read in the paper about Vivian's passing on. My mom Alma Matthews Greif was always asking if I knew how Vivian was doing? As you know they grew up together in the Boise area. I enjoyed visiting with her when she and Martin were at La Cross. My mom is still in assisted living in Payette, Idaho and she is 90 now. Just last week end we were in Payette to visit with her but she didn't ask me how Vivian was so I didn't tell her she had died. I think she would have been very depressed. She really liked her and we did too. We send our deepest sympathy to you and please give us a call when you get to CDA some time. Love  you and God bless  you all.
Love, Ruth and Randy Smith

Sally and family,
I am sorry to learn that Vivian passed away in June.  When I last saw her at the end of May, she was her same twinkley self, though tired.  I loved your Mom.  She was always a bright spot for me and for my Mom.

I have one of her beautifully painted plates in my living room and will continue to think of her lovingly every time my eyes see it.

My best to you now and always,         Orla Kirking-Kahl

Sorry to learn about the death of Vivian Chestnut.  This must have been a difficult time for all.  Therefore, I am forwarding scripture that will comfort you.  Psalms 90:10 says that the usual human life span is 70 or 80 years.  This was true when Moses wrote it but not so from the beginning.  (compare Genesis 5:3-32.)  Hebrews 9:27 says...It is reserved for men to die once for all time.  This, too, was true when it was written but not the case before God passed judgment on sinful Adam.
