May the Cox's Family find comfort in the prayers given up for your lose at this
time. And know that many of your old friends from years gone by stand by you, so
you may find peace with you.One door has closed but another one has opened.

I was so sorry to hear of Brother Cox's passing but what a glorious reunion it
must have been for him and Frances. I will always cherish my memories of
Brother Cox, watching him play the piano or lead the music. He was a wonderful
man and I feel blessed to have known both he and Sister Cox. Thanks for
the memories.

Steve, Best wishes to you and the rest of your family during this difficult
time. I have many fond memories of growing up in the Fort
Grounds. Your parents were always good to us, no matter how much
noise we made. The song you wrote for your mother defines your
talent. Thank you for that.

Jeff, Kathy, Steve, Claudia, and Norma,
Your father was my boss for the first professional job I had, in the late
sixties, as a legal secretary. He was also one of the finest men I have
ever known. He not only had the patience to deal with training a new
employee; he made learning fun. I truly looked forward to going to work.
I remember when he would not let me call clients with past due balances because
he knew those clients were experiencing hard times. He would work with
them to make the payments they were able to, when they were able to. He
was such a kind and caring man. It was due to my respect and admiration
for J. Ray, that a few years later when he called me at my job in Spokane and
asked me to be his Campaign Manager for his bid as U.S. Congressman for the
state of Idaho, that I gave my notice at Witherspoon & Kelley Law Offices
(that very day) and accepted the position with J. Ray. I even changed my
political party because I truly believed and, still do, that he was the best
candidate for the job. He even hired my younger brother, Patrick O'Malley,
as his campaign writer. I treasure the memories on the campaign trail.
What an experience!
J. Ray and Frances always made me feel special and a part of their family.
Watching them perform together was a joy. It is comforting knowing that
they are together again but their passing greatly saddens me. The world
cannot afford to lose people of their caliber. Thank goodness they had
five children to pass on their love and talent. You and your extended
families have my deepest sympathy and love.
