Geraldine Helen Koep

March 16, 1922 ~ September 20, 2006

Geraldine "Gerry" Helen Koep, 84, of Coeur d'Alene, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006. She was born March 16, 1922, in Sturgis, Saskatchewan, Canada to Edward C. Healy and Elma H. Stennes.

Geraldine married Ralph H. Koep in 1943 in Coeur d'Alene, where she lived most of her life. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

She was an office secretary and also worked in U.S. Senator James McClure's Coeur d'Alene office for 10 years before retiring in 1983.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph H. Koep of Coeur d'Alene; sons, Kenneth R. Koep of Coeur d'Alene, Ronald H. Koep of Spokane Valley, and Stanley H. Koep of Olympia, Wash.; daughters, Melianie M. Schaffer of Coeur d'Alene, and Julia J. Fitzgerald of Post Falls; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Souther, Patricia Ferguson, Veronica Schaffner and Theresa Mauser.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835.

Memorial mass will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 919 Indiana Ave, Coeur d'Alene. English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene is in charge of the arrangements.

The family would like to thank Life Care of Coeur d'Alene and Hospice of North Idaho for their care.

This is a longtime friend of Julie's,from CDA but living in Israel since 1980. Happened to check the CDA Press site (first time in awhile) today and saw that your mom passed away. Dear Ralph and family,Our families grew together. being neighbors was wonderful. I loved all the crafty things that Jerrie could make. She had a smile on her face every day and was always ready to pass it on along with her chuckel. I'm sorry that I missed this notice and the memoral. I was into my own grief over my momma at the time and didn't read any papers. If I had known I surely would have attended. I just now found out from my sister Kathy.If there is anything I can do ,please give me a call 772-6804.I lift you all up in prayer. please know that we will be with her again at the right side of God. She is no longer in pain and that she smiles down on each of you. She is in your heart and memories are with you for all the up coming holidays, to help you see it through. Remember the good times. Dear Ralph and Family,
Words just don't seem to cover all the things one wants to say at times like these, I am so sorry for your loss and that we the Thomson family didn't know. Please know that had we heard of your loss we would have been there. I won't forget how when Shawn was a baby Ralph and Jerry came to our house with Easter Bunny gifts for Shawn. It touched my heart so. Always so kind to me. Now I thank God that she is with him and know someday we will see each other again.

Ken and family: Was just browsing this list and was sorry to hear about your mom and didn't know about it sooner. My husband's dad passed April 2005, my mom, June in Sept 2005 the Ted's mom Jan 2007. Sorry I missed reading about your mom, but had lots of paper work going on at that time. Hope to see you at the reunion if there is one this year
