I will miss seeing her smiling face. She was such a great lady and gardner. I loved hearing about her flowers. She will be forever loved as the wonderful person she was.

Dear Holzer family,
What incredible joy your Mom brought to the people she met.  She was an amazing, lovely, dear woman.
I remember the first time I introduced myself to your parents, telling them that I was "Butch's baby sister", your mom hugged me, I felt like I just became a part of the family.  She meant so much to Butch and I!
I know she is smiling down at us from heaven.  She will continue to keep good watch over her family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. donna

So sorry for your loss.  Your mother and mine (Ruth Nelson) worked together at Fowlers and they became friends.  She was so kind to all of kids when we ran around together, as was your father.  I am sure that he was there to welcome her to that better place.  Take care.  Sincerely, Donna

I was lucky enough to have met Tubby, granted only for a short time, however I was still touched by her warmth and enthusiasm for life. You would of never have guessed her age when she spend the night zipping around the dance floor at our wedding. She welcomed me into her family with open arms and told me that not only was I gaining a wife (Kimberly) but also a "Tubby"!  She was a very special lady who will be sorely missed.

Tubby was probably our Mother's best friend.. They worked together almost 60 years ago and remained friends from then on.. Tubby was always so full of life, and laughter. She helped our Mother so much, taking her to Dr. app. and just raising her spirits when she was ill with cancer. Tubby will truly be missed!

To all the family, I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences. I had the good fortune to work with Tubby for over twelve years, at (Smithy's, Perkins) Dave's Restaurant. Tubby had such a unique personality, so warm and caring, yet totally knew how to have FUN and live life to the FULLEST!

I have so many fond memories of Tubby over the years, and know that everyone that came in touch with her was privileged for the opportunity to get to know her.

Jo Ellen, Tom and Dick,

I didn't know your mom as well as I would have liked to, but being at her services helped me to know what a great person she was.  It was good to see all of your, but not under these circumstances.

Keep in touch.

Claudia

Jo Ellen, Dick and Tom,
I know the last few months have been really tough, but given the 63 years I've known her, I've not known her to suffer very much.  She was one of the happiest and most optomistic people I've ever known.  I will really miss, along with you all, Tubby and Fred; but we know they are enjoying being back together again.
When I think about Tubby I think about how hard and cheerfully she always worked.  I'll never forget working on Banquets at the Elks club for her, and her calling me up to come work, saying:  "Don't bother to wear your underwear because we'll be running them off!!"  We really did have to run to keep up with Tubby.

Holzer Family:

We offer our condolenses and prayers to the Holzer family.  Tubby always had a smile and something good to say to all those who knew her. I have great memories of working with her back in the days at Perkins Restaurant.

I met Rita one time while she was visiting Tom and his family. What a wonderful woman; so vibrant and full of life. I'm certain she will be dearly missed. May her wonderful soul rest in the peace of God's Kingdom.

I'm sorry I missed her service.  I was out of town for the last two weeks, and didn't realize she had passed until today. The Riplingers and the Holzers have lived in the neighborhood for many, many years, and have shared much in common. My parents were good friends with Fred and Tubby. But I didn't get to know Tubby until I moved onto her block about 10 years ago. We had many conversations together.  She was sharp as a tack and always up on the latest news about everyone, so I stopped buying the CDA Press!! I will miss walking by the house and seeing all her beautiful flowers and stopping for a chat. She was a lovely woman and the neighborhood won't be the same without her.

Quite a few years ago My children and I moved next door to Tubby and fred. My kids were still going to Elementary school and my youngest was just in 1st grade. When we moved in my little boy and Fred became close and because Fred loved baseball like my son, he used to watch him play in the yard and the 2 of them even had gone to his games. What a couple of special people they were. I'm deeply saddened by her passing. She used to call me when my son was playing baseball in the yard to have me look at Fred watching him out the window. By that time Fred was starting to not get around much but still looked out the window and had even from day one called him "Babe" as in Babe Ruth. Well after we had moved, and it had been a few years since Fred had died,my son went to see Tubby I believe it was her daughter that had answered the door. My son asked to see Tubby to say hi and had sat down by her, she remembered him and once she said something about him playing baseball, her daughter came out and said "so this is babe" he was so thrilled to hear she had remembered him, he called me right away so tickled. I know he will never forget that moment. my thoughts of Tubby were just as fond but most of all, I remembered her beauty. She was so cute going and getting her hair done every Thursday. I'm sorry I hadn't seen she had passed until now but I hope this brings the family some comfort. Dionne, Mallory and Kenny Hoffman
