Earth Burial

Most people choose earth burial as the final location for their remains.  This form of interment requires the purchase of a cemetery lot.  Other expenses usually include a fee for opening of the grave and perpetual care of the gravesite.  Monuments or markers are customarily placed at the grave as a memorial.  They may vary considerably in cost and quality.  Before buying cemetery lots, it is important to inquire about a cemetery's long range care capabilities (perpetual care).  You would not want to inter loved ones in a cemetery that will not be able to provide perpetual care of the cemetery grounds.  Our funeral director's can help you in making an appropriate selection.

What Happens At The Cemetery?

      1. The grave is opened and the outer burial container is delivered and installed.

2. The casket is placed while family and friends gather for the final graveside ceremony.

3. At the completion of the service, the casket is lowered into the outer burial container for

    interment.

4. The vault is then lowered into the ground. Later the grave will be closed, the soil tamped.
