JoAnne Seher (Jones)
JoAnne Jones, 51, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 4, 2019. She was born to parents Larry and Gail Jones on November 8th, 1967 in Cottonwood, Idaho. She was raised in Nez Perce, Idaho with her brother Aaron Jones on their parents farm before moving to various locations with her family: Sacramento, California; Dayton, Washington; Moses Lake, Washington; then they spent the remainder of her childhood years in Post Falls, Idaho. She completed high school in a Christian school setting through Baptist Temple in Spokane, Washington.
JoAnne began working various jobs as an adult and in 2006 she became employed by North Idaho College where she remained for her career. She spent most of her employment at NIC in dining services where she made some lifelong friends the she enjoyed working with. She spent the last two years of her employment at NIC as an events coordinator. Around the same time she started this new position, she was also diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. She knew this battle would be tough but she took on the challenge of attending work and chemo treatments every week. If there was one word people would use to have described her it would be...strong. Through the remainder of her employment and diagnosis, she did it all with a smile. No complaints, no feeling sorry for herself, she accepted what the doctors said and followed treatments while continuing to work and uplift others.
She carried on the importance of Family unity led by the example of her mother. It is how she led and raised her family and passed down this value to her children and grandchildren. She accomplished this by spending quality time with her family and organizing family get-togethers . She would always go out of her way to prepare food and desserts for each individual family member to make sure everyone had their favorites. Often she would spend 3-5 days preparing for these get-togethers and enjoyed the laughter and time spent together.
JoAnne is survived by and awaiting the arrival of her family: Father Larry Jones, Brother Aaron (Christine) Jones, Children: Jessica (Jake) Mikek, Annette (Aaron) Collins, Ryan Seher, Grandchildren: Emma, Lyla, Naomi, Isabelle Mikek, Malachi, Adam, Alayla Stiles.
