Albert R. Lozeau passed away peacefully on May 25, 2019 at the age of 94. Al was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island May 23, 1925 where he lived until going into the Catholic Seminary. He studied there for two years before being drafted into the US Army. While on leave in Pittsburgh, PA in 1951, he met and married his wife, Ida M. Staab. They had four children: Raymond, Alicia, Ida and Renee. After moving briefly to Canada to teach English and Latin at Ottawa University, he moved back to Pittsburgh where he taught French until his retirement. He remained until 2014 before moving to Coeur d’Alene, ID to be near his son, Raymond, his grandchildren: Rachel O’Hearn (Philip), Nathaniel Lozeau, and Sarah Lozeau and his great grandchildren: Joren, Peyton, Moira, Kyler and Thomas.

Al was an educated man who spoke English and French fluently and was known for his love of books, quick wit, and beautiful singing voice. He is survived by his daughters: Ida Finnerty (Kevin) and Renee Lozeau Townsend as well as 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He will be laid to rest at Washington State Veterans Cemetery.
