Barbara Ruth Haskett Jones Harman passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on September 20, 2021 in Post Falls, Idaho. She was born in Buhl, Idaho on August 9, 1925 to Parley and Inez Haskett. Barbara grew up in Buhl, Jerome and Pocatello, Idaho.
In 1942, at the age of 17 she married Ted Jones and together they raised five children in Pocatello, Idaho. Barbara worked in school lunchrooms and was well known for her kindness and her cinnamon rolls.
Barbara was an author, a seamstress and an artist as well as one of the best cooks in town. She had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed feeding those that stopped by to listen to “the Jones Family” play music out on the patio. Barb was famous for her homemade bread, her fried chicken, potato salad and apple pie.
After her husband Ted’s death, she was blessed to meet and marry Merl Harman, gaining four more children and their families. They lived in Pocatello, Island Park and Hagerman, Idaho. The home in Hagerman became a gathering place for all the Jones’s and all the Harman’s. Many wonderful memories were made during the ‘Hagerman’ years.
In Barbara’s later years she moved to Spokane, WA to live with her daughter Linda where she had time to paint and continue to write. Barbara was ‘Mom’ to many and when in her presence you always felt loved and accepted.
