Barbara Jean James LePard, 92, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at Hospice of North Idaho. She was born on September 25, 1933, to Lester and Pearl James in Spokane, Washington. With her parents and younger sister Joan (Evans), Barbara moved to Coeur d’Alene when she was eleven where her parents started the Lighthouse Sporting Goods store. She met the love of her life, Jim LePard, in 8th grade where they attended confirmation classes at Trinity Lutheran Church. They became high school sweethearts, married, and raised their family of three children in Coeur d’Alene.

Prior to marriage, Barbara was a top student, a member of Job’s Daughters, and a secretary to CDA Superintendent of Schools. Once married, she was a busy homemaker, active volunteer, and very involved in committees and teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Bethel Bible Program, and Search Bible Series at Trinity Lutheran Church. After 50 years at Trinity, Barbara and Jim joined Lutheran Church of the Master (LCM) in 1994 where they were also very active with Barb singing in the church choir. She attended Game Night at LCM a week before she died. Barbara loved her church families.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Kate LePard and her husband Dale Schroeder as well as her daughter Bonnie LePard and her husband Bruce Reed. Barbara adored her five grandchildren: Tyler LePard (and wife Loren Drummond), James Jacobus (and partner Kevin McLemore), Julia Reed (and husband John Scanlon), Nelson Reed, and Zoe LePard (and husband Dion Hubble). Barbara was crazy about her great-grandson Elliott LeDrummond (son of Tyler and Loren). In addition, she is survived by her daughter-in-law Donna LePard. Barbara was very fond of her step-grandchildren Greg Schroeder, John Schroeder (and wife Michele), and Emily Davis (and husband Robert), and her step-great-grandchildren Morgan Davis, Christian Davis, Lilly Schroeder, and Lane Schroeder.

Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, Les and Pearl James, her husband Jim LePard (2018), and their son Stanley LePard (2021). Barb was looking forward to being reunited with them in Heaven.
