Baron Walter White

May 15, 1937 — May 1, 2023

Baron Walter White

Our loving husband, father and grandfather went home to be with his Lord on May 1st 2023. He had a sudden death by an aggressive cancer.  Baron was born in Los Angeles CA on May 15, 1937, to William Henry White and Lucy Pyontek White. His childhood days were spent in Hollywood and Burbank California where his father was a Casting Director. Naturally, then, as a child, he enjoyed being in the movies.  Baron became interested in weather (meteorology), when “1-3” inches of snow startled the residents in the LA area in 1949.  He joined the Air force in 1955 and trained to be a Weather Observer and Forecaster.

In 1960 Baron fell in love and married Marilyn Kittie Schafer from Los Angeles. They were blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, now Kittie Dee Hayden and Mitzie Jane Farmer. He soon had 2 grandsons to enjoy, Zachery and Luke Hayden. The family loved bowling and friday night board games.  Baron worked for GTE-Sylvania after his military service.  He and Marilyn had 36 wonderful years until her death in 1996.

In 2001, Baron fell in love with the great Northwest while working as assistant manager of the “Old Faithful” store in Yellowstone National Park.  In 2002 he met widowed Gloria Steed Park on the on-line “Christian Cafe.”  “You’ve got mail” became very exciting. Finding out their faith and all the things they enjoyed were the same, after much praying and soul searching they were married in 2003. Baron inherited 40 new step-children/grandchildren who loved him dearly.  He recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.  Baron loved hiking, traveling, cruising, theater, music, old movies and tennis.

Baron’s goal in life was to love the Lord Jesus Christ his Saviour with all his heart, soul, and might.  He got up early every morning to read his Bible and every night before he turned out the lights.  He served his church Emmanuel Baptist, now Pathway, here in Coeur d’ Alene, in many capacities:  Deacon, teacher, outreach, Bible School, where ever he was needed. He also served as a Gideon for many years.

As echoed by his friends and family, he was a man of integrity.  He had a great sense of humor. He was very humble, always grateful. He was gentle, loving, compassionate, faithful, protective, considerate and kindhearted.  He was a good listener and a great prayer warrior.

He had a positive impact on so many lives and will be greatly missed.

Life Celebration for friends and family of Baron White will be on May 27th 2023 at 2:30 PM.  This will be at Pathway Church located at 3115 N. 15th Street, Coeur d’ Alene ID.
