Bernadine Petersen, “Bernie” to her close friends, quietly passed away of natural causes on the evening of July 16, 2020 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Bernadine was born March 21, 1935 in Hanover Green, PA to Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Fela. She was a graduate of Mount St. Dominic Academy, Caldwell and the Berkeley School, East Orange,,NJ.  Bernie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Stephen Petersen, their daughter Karen, son Eric (wife Angela) and her sister Florence Smith.

A celebration of her life will begin at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday August 18, 2020, at English Funeral Chapel at 1133 N. 4th Street in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. All are welcome to attend.

For family and friends who cannot attend in person the celebration will be broadcast via Facebook Live.  Visit English Funeral Chapels Facebook page and the broadcast will start approximately 5 minutes before the service.

In lieu of flowers, Bernie has asked that a donation in kind be made to the Kootenai Humane Society Building Fund to commemorate her love of animals. This can be done by check or online. All donation checks should be made out to:
