AO1(AW) Carl John Fister proud veteran of the United States Navy was called to his final deployment on June 22, 2024.Carl was the son of Fredrick Sr. and Hazel Nelson Fister. He was born September 6, 1959 at Bonner General in Sandpoint, Idaho. He was raised around the Sandpoint area.

 Carl Joined the Navy in July 1979. His military service started in San Diego, California with NRTC San Diego July 1979 to November 1979 in Company 134 and 143, USS Ranger CV61 November 1979 to August 1982, VA 128 Whidbey Island August 1982 to September 1984, VA 145 USS Ranger CV61 September 1984 to February 1989, VAQ 129 Whidbey Island February 1989 to April1991, BAS Whidbey Island USS Kitty Hawk CV63 April1991 to July 1992,AIMD SEOPDET USS Kitty Hawk CV63 July 1992 to December 1996, AIMD VANOPDET Japan December 1996 to February 1997, AMTRAGRUDET Whidbey Island February 1997 to July 1999.

 His medals and ribbons he has earned: Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation 3 times, Navy "E" Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal 5 times, Navy Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal 2 times, Southwest Asia Service

Medal 2 times, Humanitarian Service Medal, Navy Sea Service Deployment 5 times, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and Navy Pistol Marksman Award. Carl married Michele Hentges June 20, 1981 in Rathdrum, Idaho. They had three children: Rolanda 1985, Dustinjohn 1987, and Rustinjay 1990. After Carl retired from the military he held various civilian jobs at Silverwood Theme Park, Stock Lumber Company, CDA Builders Supply, PTI Transportation, Knudtson Chevrolet, and Giorgi's Restaurant. In Carl's free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his kids and grandkids.

 He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Michele Fister at the family home in Rathdrum, Idaho, his daughter Rolanda (Doug) Fister of Spirit Lake, Idaho, sons Dustinjohn Fister of Camas, Washington, Rustinjay (Lauren) Fister of Rathdrum, Idaho, one step granddaughter Kaitlyn Stordahl, three granddaughters Kennedy Fister, Kingsley Fister, Monroe Airhart, and one grandson Zayden Fister. A brother Frederick Jr. (Susan) Fister of Arizona City, Arizona, mother-in-law Julia Nilles of Rathdrum, Idaho, sister-in-law Annette (Todd) Krieg of Vancouver, Washington, two brother in laws Martin (Mary) Hentges of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Shane (Rochelle) Nilles of Athol, Idaho and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

 He was preceded in death by his parents Frederick Sr and Hazel Fister, his brother Ralph Fister, his father-in-law Roland Nilles, grandparents John and Vera Nelson, Carl and Lillie Fister, and numerous Aunts and Uncles. Carl was a very loving husband, grandfather, brother, and friend he will be missed by many.

 Graveside services Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 am Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements by English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls. In lieu of flowers the family would like you to donate to your favorite charity
