Carol Ann Misita, 76, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, on April 9, 2026.

Born on October 20, 1949, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Floyd and June Welch, Carol’s life was deeply rooted in the beauty of North Idaho. The mountains, lakes, and changing seasons—except winter—were the backdrop to a life filled with love, devotion, and strength.

Carol graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1968 and, on June 13, 1970, married the love of her life, Ralph Misita. Together, they built not just a home in Post Falls, but a life full of meaning, laughter, and unwavering commitment to one another. Their love story became the foundation of a family that Carol treasured above all else.

She was a woman of warmth and wit, known for her strength and steady presence. Her impact was deeply felt by everyone around her. She had a gift for making people feel at home—whether through a shared meal, a conversation, or simply her presence.

Carol found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She was an avid reader, a devoted gardener who poured her heart into every flower and plant, and a wonderful cook who brought her family together around the table. But more than anything, she loved being with her family. Summers were spent camping, laughing, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she adored every moment she spent with them.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Misita; her children, John, Angela, and Suzanne Misita; her daughter-in-law, Tiffany Misita; her cherished grandchildren, Cabe, Gabby, and Lexi; one great-grandchild, Sunnylinh; her sister, Judy Monroe; her brothers, Bob Welch and Chuck Welch; her uncle and aunt, Ronnie and Ginger Welch; her sisters-in-law, Penni Schmehl and Peggy Rutledge; her brother-in-law, David Misita; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and June Welch, and her brother, Danny Welch.

Those who knew Carol will remember her not only for what she did, but for who she was—a strong, kind, steady, and loving soul whose presence made life feel a little warmer and a little more whole. Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her love will remain in the hearts of her family forever.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at the American Legion, 1138 E. Polston Ave., Post Falls, Idaho, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday May 3rd. This will be a potluck gathering, and all who knew and loved her are invited to come share memories, stories, and honor a life so beautifully lived.
