Carole Irene Durk

 

Carole Irene Durk, 91, passed away on July 16, 2023 at Kootenai hospital in Coeur d’Alene Idaho surrounded by close family. She was born August 16, 1931 to Hazel and Bill Nordyke in Colusa, California and had 1 brother Roy and 2 sisters, Billie and Cyndy. She graduated high school in 1949 and married Frank C. Durk on July 15, 1950. Carole and Frank lived in various California towns eventually settling in Sacramento where they raised their 2 sons,  Mark and Mike. She encouraged her sons to be involved in fishing, baseball and Mira Loma football. In Sacramento Carole enjoyed hosting swim parties with friends and relatives and also playing golf.   Upon retirement they moved to Lake Almanor, California and finally settled in Hayden Lake, Idaho. She became a huge fan of Gonzaga basketball and never missed a game. Frank and Carole joined the Unity church and were regular members. She loved to play cards, do jigsaw puzzles and always had time to visit. Carole was a very practical person who had an ability to relate to just about anyone. She will be truly missed. 

 

Carole is survived by her Brother Roy and sister in-law  Dianne Nordyke of Oregon, Sister Cyndy and husband Skip Tuttle of Mount Shasta, California, Mark and Debbie Durk of Blanchard Oklahoma, Michael and Marita Durk of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Grandchildren Steven Durk of Penryn, California, Kristen Ninnow of Oklahoma, Katie Durk of Hayden Lake, Idaho and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A celebration of life will be held on September 17, 2023 at the Eagles Lodge, 1520 W Wyoming Ave in Hayden Lake from 12:00 to 5.
