Charles Albert Steele, (Abe, Papa, Pops) was born June 23, 1933 to Charles and Wilma Steele in Wilbur, Washington. He was the youngest of 8 children. Due to illnesses with his parents, Charles was raised by Fred and Beth Cook for most of his life.
Charles passed away at home in Newman Lake, Washington on March 20, 2023 at the age of 89 years old. Where he had resided for 35 years.

Charles served in the US Army. After discharge, he was a Knife grinder in the Spokane Valley. In his younger years, Charles loved to hunt and fish. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards with friends, trying to hit a big one at the casino and trying to get his fish to eat out of his hand in the boat that he buried in the back yard. Charles was married to his wife Darlene for 43 years before her passing in 2011.

Charles is survived by his children: Reece, Dale (Nancy), Celestine (Jim), and Connie (Russ). His grandchildren: Josh, Jeremy, Dylan, Makayla, Shelley, Josh and their families. He was preceded in death by his Parents (Charles and Wilma), wife (Darlene), Siblings (Stanley, Chester, Marybelle, Edward, Clyde, Dorothy and Barbara), his son (Charles) and his grandson (Auston).

Charles will be missed by many, but we will all cherish the memories that we have with him. Memorial Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Coeur d' Alene Memorial Gardens. Arrangements and Services by English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d' Alene.
