Charlotte "Lottie" Capaul

Charlotte E. “Lottie” Capaul of Coeur d’ Alene passed away peacefully June 26th, 2020.  Lottie was born in Wansdorf Germany on January 29th, 1928.  She worked as a telephone operator in Berlin Germany during WWII.

Lottie made her way to the United States of America in 1947, where she soon met her husband of what would have been 70 years in July, George M. Capaul Jr..

Lottie worked for the Coeur d’ Alene School District in food service and became kitchen manager at Bryan Elementary for 20 plus years.  She loved her “children” very much and cooked with that love every school day...She was a wonderful cook and baker for her family as well.

Lottie was preceded in death by her beloved husband George M. Capaul Jr. in 2002 and is survived by her 3 daughters:  MaryLou Wimmer, Georgia (Lynn) Crockett and LeaAnn ( Tim) VanLohuizen; she has 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.

The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center of Coeur d’ Alene, especially the 400 wing where she spent the last 3 years.  They were her surrogate family during the recent events due to Covid19.  Thank you so much!!  Also to Hospice of North Idaho for her peaceful passing.

Respecting her wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kootenai Humane Society and/or Hospice of North Idaho.
