Cheryl Dayle Mills

Cheryl Dayle Mills, age 77, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 30, 2026, following a long illness.

Cheryl was born on July 6, 1949, in Spokane, Washington, to Dale and Tiny Mills. She grew up in Hillyard and graduated from Rogers High School in 1967.

Throughout her career, Cheryl worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Rouse’s Towing, St. Patrick’s School, and Doree Roofing. She was known for her generosity and kindness, and she had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly cats and dogs.

Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Daylene Mills; grandchildren, Alysha Mills J Durham (Scotty), Jordan Mills, Michael Mills, and Matthew Mills; great-grandchildren, Zhavia, Karter, Hazel, Zane, Scarlett, and Kamari; sister, Judyne Lalk; sister-in-law, Nancy Mills; and nephews, Rob Mills, Thomas Rogers, Tyler Lalk (Jenn), and Andrew Lalk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Tiny Mills; her brother, Wally Mills; her sister, Candace Rogers; and her brother-in-law, Rich Lalk.

In accordance with Cheryl’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Washington State Veterinary Medicine in memory of Cheryl’s pacemaker, or to an animal rescue of your choice.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Kootenai Health, the Kootenai hospital, Kootenai Cardiology, LifeFlight Network, and the University of Washington Cardiology.
