Claudia Preston

Claudia Helen Preston, age 83, was born on August 18, 1936 to Harry & Helen Herold in Seattle, WA. She was an only child. At age 19 she married Joseph Vincent Preston. They had 6 children together. Their marriage ended 23 years later. Claudia never married again.

She is survived by all her children: Melea Janssen, Joseph Preston, Lynnette Preston. Lisa (Tim) Fisher, Marla Fuller and Jeffrey Preston. Also by 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren & 1 great, great grandson.

She was a stay at home until the youngest started school. She then started her career as a secretary at Sun Electric Corporation. She moved to other businesses when that company closed & became an executive secretary in Portland, OR, San Jose, CA and Lynnwood, WA. She then got the opportunity to travel, which was her heart’s desire, by working with her cousin Amy selling therapeutic massagers at trade shows and fairs all over the US. She loved that.

She retired at 62 while living in Everett, WA then in 2007 moved to the Coeur d’Alene area.

Claudia loved the Lord with all her heart!! Since she retired she spent her mornings journaling and praying for her family and anyone else that she felt led to pray for. She loved her family, going for drives, the ocean, music and dancing!!

Her residence for the past 5 years was at Wellspring Meadows Assisted Living in Hayden, ID. She loved it there and they loved her dearly.

Claudia loved deeply and in her last years she entertained anyone who happened to talked to her with her stories and memories until Alzheimer’s took those away.

Claudia went on to be with the Lord and Savior on February 14th 2020. She will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at The Alter, 901 E. Best Ave. Coeur d’Alene, ID at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 7th. Reception to follow.
