Dale Fleming

Dale L. Fleming – 67 of Hayden, Idaho – went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 1st of 2018 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family, friends and loving wife of 49 years, Eileen Fleming.

Dale was born June 14, 1950, in Dillon, Montana to James L. Fleming and Verna O. Fleming (Masterson). Dale was the eighth of eleven children.

He was preceded in death by his parents James L. Fleming, Verna O. Masterson, Lee B. Masterson, and brothers Clark Masterson and Donny Masterson.

Dale married his wife Eileen in May 1969. They had 4 children: Shelly (Stephen) Davis of Liberty Hill, Texas; Steven (Lisa) Fleming of Graham, Washington; Pamela (Paul) Combs of Hayden, Idaho; and Debra (Reese) Liles of Temple, Texas. They have 13 grandkids and 1 great-grandson.

For over 50 years, Dale spent his time working in the woods operating heavy equipment. The jobs ranged from logging with the family and building roads, to owning and operating his own business with his wife for 20 years. The most enjoyable work Dale did was in the mountains of the Coeur d’Alene’s, grading roads for the forest service and doing stream rehab. He also spent his time in those same woods hunting, fishing, and camping with his wife and family.

Dale and Eileen loved to go out dancing and listening to live music. They also enjoyed singing together. The sweet music they made together reflected their love for each other.

He is survived by his wife Eileen, their four children, thirteen grandkids, one great-grandson, his siblings Gale (Katie) Masterson, Carol (Stan) Bates, Bat Masterson, Doris Fleming, Mel (Beth) Masterson, Ellery (Ellen) Masterson, Mary (Fred) Lambert, Roy (Lori) Masterson, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Dale was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, and friend. All who knew him could attest to his genuine love and affection for his family and friends. His character was true and honest. If he shook your hand and gave you his word, it was golden.

We will be holding a Celebration of Life ceremony on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the Hayden Eagles at 2 pm.
