Dennis Dale Stinebaugh

Dennis Dale Stinebaugh, 73, of Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away on December 31, 2023. He was born July 18, 1950 in Lubbock, Texas to Donald and Hilda (Erickson) Stinebaugh.

Dennis and his family lived in various places throughout the United States during his childhood until finally settling in North Idaho. In July 1970, he was drafted into the United States Army. After basic training he was stationed in Germany where he earned recognition for marksmanship. Upon discharge from the Army, he returned home to Idaho and was employed by Erickson’s Upholstery.  During this time, he also built Leata cars with his dad and brothers at their shop in Post Falls, Idaho. Later, Dennis began a career in construction with General Telephone and Electronics (GTE), now Verizon, where he worked until his retirement.

Dennis was a master storyteller with great sense of humor. He was passionate about guns, classic cars and motorcycles, and anything with an engine – the faster the better. In his spare time, he enjoyed upholstery projects, restoring cars and motorcycles, and fishing. He liked watching car races and loved old western TV shows and movies.

He was proceeded in death by his father Donald and brothers Leonard and Kenneth. Dennis is survived by his mother Hilda Stinebaugh of Post Falls, wife Charlotte at home, children Dennis (Heidi) Stinebaugh of Chattaroy, WA, and Camie (Mike) Petrie of Post Falls, sister Juanita Minter of Prosser, WA, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
