Deone Victoria Anderson

Sep 4, 1942 — Jun 20, 2026

Deone Victoria Anderson, lovingly known as "Patty," passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 20, 2026, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, at the age of 83.

Patty was born on September 4, 1942, in Wapato, Washington, to Agnes McCaslin and Victor Lucas. She was raised in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, alongside her siblings Oliver Lucas, Linda Sauer, and Joanie Babbit.

On August 23, 1958, Patty married the love of her life, Gerald "Jerry" Magner Anderson. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and service to others. Their marriage remained a guiding light in Patty's life until Jerry's passing in 2003.

Patty was a lifelong entrepreneur and businesswoman. Alongside her husband and family, she helped operate several family businesses, including Jerry's Body Shop, Sunset Towing, Sunset Taxi, and Sunset Motors. Her dedication, determination, and strong work ethic helped create opportunities for generations of her family.

Faith and family were important foundations throughout Patty's life. She attended St. Pius X Catholic Church and was known for her generous spirit, compassion for others, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Family was the center of Patty's world. She was a loving mother to Rick Anderson, Mike Anderson, and Sherry "Sis" Anderson McKay. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Cindy Taylor and Terena Anderson, and by Shelly Anderson, who remained a beloved member of the family.

Patty was a proud grandmother to Jennifer Tasker Roberts, Travis McKay, Michelle McKay, Amanda Herrera, Kelsey Dos Santos, Jerad Anderson, Brooke Vig, Matthew Anderson, and Vanessa Clements. She also embraced their spouses and partners as family, extending to them the same love, support, and acceptance that she shared with her grandchildren.

She was further blessed with many great-grandchildren, including Alexandria, Ashlyn, Drew, Jillian, Emily, Aiden, Antonio, Harlen, Carson, Hazel, Candace, Jerry, Conley, Wyatt, Pedro Jr., and Jade.

She also leaves behind her sister Linda Sauer, many beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her love and generosity.

Later in life, Patty also learned of and connected with several half-siblings. While distance and time allowed only brief opportunities to know some of them, she cherished those connections and the opportunity to learn more about her family's story.

Patty's love extended far beyond the branches of her family tree. Throughout her life, she welcomed friends, neighbors, in-laws, and loved ones into her heart and home, rarely drawing distinctions between those related by blood and those related by love. To many, she became "Grandma Pat" or "Aunt Pat," offering the same warmth, encouragement, and unconditional acceptance she gave her own family. Whether sharing a meal, celebrating a milestone, lending a helping hand, or simply offering a listening ear, Patty had a gift for making people feel like they belonged. Her family was not limited to those she was born to or raised, but included all those fortunate enough to be embraced by her generous spirit.

Patty never missed an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of those she loved. Whether it was graduations, concerts, recitals, sporting events, or family milestones, she was there. Her grandchildren knew her for her unconditional love, unwavering support, and the joy she found in spending time with them.

Her home was the heart of countless family gatherings. Patty loved visiting with friends and family, holiday baking, hosting dinners, and creating unforgettable Christmas celebrations. Family traditions, especially Christmas gatherings and annual back-to-school shopping trips for her grandchildren, became treasured memories that will live on for generations.

She enjoyed tole painting on wood, gardening, bowling, boating, and spending time at Arrow Point. She was known for her beautiful flowers, especially geraniums, petunias, and roses. She loved Hallmark and Disney movies, NCIS, Blue Bloods, classic music, Patsy Cline, and Nat King Cole. She also enjoyed collecting spoons, cups and saucers, and many cherished keepsakes gathered throughout her life. Her beloved Persian cat, Sasha, held a special place in her heart.

Patty was known for her nurturing spirit, loyalty, generosity, and devotion to family. She quietly taught those around her to stay humble, help those in need, and give without expecting anything in return. Even after becoming a widow, she opened her heart and home to those who needed family, often treating them as one of her own.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Joanie Babbit; her beloved husband, Gerald "Jerry" Anderson; her mother, Agnes McCaslin; her brother, Oliver Lucas; and her father, Victor Lucas.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff of First Light, Sarah, Jodi, Jen, Rebecca, Emily, Ashlyn, Cindy, Michelle, Connie, Rick, Zackary, Travis, and the many friends and family members whose kindness, care, comfort, and support brought peace to Patty and her family during her final days.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Coeur d'Alene on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Patty will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Jerry, at Riverview Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held during Labor Day weekend in celebration of what would have been Patty's 84th birthday, where family and friends will gather to share stories, memories, laughter, and love in honor of a remarkable woman whose life touched so many.

Patty's greatest legacy was not found in the businesses she helped build or the accomplishments she achieved, but in the family she nurtured, the traditions she created, and the unconditional love she shared so freely. Guided throughout her life by faith, family, and a generous heart, Patty leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and love that will continue to live on in the generations she helped shape. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created and the values she instilled will remain with all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
