Donald Lee Frank

Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Donald Lee Frank on March 18, 2023, at the age of 67. Donnie passed away surrounded by his loved ones, after a long battle with cancer. Donnie was born on March 5th, 1956 in Glendive, Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents Reinhold and Florence Frank, and brothers Leroy and Roger Frank. He is survived by his three children Justin Koogler (Amber) of Parma ID, Stephanie Long (Joel) of Forest Grove OR and Coleman Frank (Carolyn) of Sagle ID, along with his eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters; Connie Bredberg (Paul) of Georgetown KY, Barbara Avery (Spark) of Hayden ID, Lisa Howlett of Post Falls ID, along with his brothers; Gene Frank (Donna) of Jersey AR, Mike Frank (Shannon) of Post Falls ID and Dan Frank (Tracie) of Post Falls ID. In addition, are his numerous nieces and nephews and his many good friends whom he considered family.

Donnie grew up in Post Falls, Idaho as one of seven siblings in a working class Lutheran family. In high school, he excelled at football and wrestling. He later became an avid golfer and devout fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Donnie loved being in the outdoors. He most enjoyed playing golf with his friends and family and, more than anything, spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a hard worker and always gave 100% to his various jobs. He worked in heavy construction and as a golf course superintendent in both Idaho and Washington states. In his last few years, while working at the Coeur d’Alene Inn, the crew and regular customers became his 2nd family. Guests often raved about the warm service Donnie provided. Donnie will always be remembered for the love he had for his family, his wry sense of humor, and the light he carried despite his challenges.

A celebration of life will be held on June 3rd, 2023 at 2pm at the Coeur d’Alene Inn.
