To encounter the veil that surrounded Doris, you would find a true love of life, family, and all creatures big and small. Doris Mae Ramsden passed away on December 13 th , 2025 at the age of 96.
Doris was born in Neenah, Wisconsin on May 13 th , 1929, the daughter of Stephen and Florence Pawlacyk, and is survived by her brother Ron and children Gary and Kim. Doris has a grandson, Jasen, and two granddaughters Raechel, and Grace. She was also blessed with six great grandchildren, Cory, Savannah, Evelyn, Max, Emma, and Samual.
At an early age Doris, along with her family, pulled up roots from rural Neenah, Wisconsin, and moved to sunny Montebello, California. After graduating from high school, Doris worked various jobs as a phone operator, as well as a marketing model for a major retail store. At an early age, Doris discovered and honed her craft as an artist for the new and up and coming Walt Disney production company, a relationship that lasted until she met the love of her life.
Gordon Ramsden was playing his sax at the Palladium Theater in Los Angeles and saw this pretty girl in the crowd—that girl was Doris Pawlacyk, and the relationship lasted for over 75 years. Married on Valentines Day in 1950, the two lived in Southern California raising their two children. Years later, after Gordon’s retirement from Prudential Insurance Company, they moved to Coeur d Alene, Idaho, and created roots starting in the early 1990’s.
Throughout the years, Doris developed a love for all animals, but especially for dog training. In Southern California, Doris and Gordon developed their ranch, GTR Rancho, that housed many creatures from horses to dogs of numerous breeds. After a time, Doris was known as an accomplished award winner of both obedience and agility dog classes. A visit to the house in Coeur d Alene would show rooms displaying numerous trophy cases filled with trophies and more blue ribbons than you could count. Doris’ accomplishments are too broad and many to name, but on her 80 th birthday she and her dog were named “Best of Show in Agility” under heavy competition from much younger entries. Doris also achieved many championships and even qualified her Sheltie Sheepdog, “Tina”, to the coveted honor of attending The Westminster Dog Show in New York, New York.
Throughout her years there were always animals in the house and yard and she loved them as much as life itself!
We will miss the love and support of our Mother/Grandmother. She is in our hearts and souls with memories that will remain with all of us. We know she loved us deeply, as we loved her. Rest in peace!
