Edward Arthur Wakefield, 95, of Post Falls Idaho, passed away December 21, 2019, in the comfort of his own home.

Ed was born on April 5, 1924, in Duluth Minnesota to Dudley Foster Wakefield and Lucy Courval Wakefield where he grew up with his 5 siblings until he joined the Navy. His training was at Farragut and he served on the USS Rotanin during WWII. While he was serving our country he met the love of his life, June Marie McCrea to whom he was married for 74 years. Together they had 6 children. Patrick Wakefield and his wife Louise, Marie Schnore and her husband Bob, Tom Wakefield, Suzanne Hayes and her husband Ron, Lucy Lepinski and her husband Larry and Paul Wakefield. Ed was very proud of each and every one of his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Ed worked very hard throughout his life and when it was time to retire, he enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, gardening, and his dog Minnie. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for 40 years.
