Evelyn Violet Jestes

Evelyn Violet Jestes, 93, of Snohomish, Washington, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025 in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on January 5, 1932 in Los Angeles, California, to Birl Love Wismer and Violet Marie Wismer. She had a happy childhood growing up in Whittier, California and graduated from Whittier High School in 1949.

Evelyn married Jack Edward Jestes on April 15, 1950, and they shared a beautiful 67-year marriage. They had three children: Teri, Tim and Tami. They were a loving and devoted couple who set a wonderful example for their family.

Evelyn’s career as a furniture salesperson began in 1969 at Cooper’s Maple Shop in Bellevue, Washington. In 1971, her family moved to La Mesa, California where she joined Wickes Furniture as a salesperson. Her exceptional performance was rewarded with trips to Mexico and Hawaii. In 1979, they relocated to Sacramento where she worked at Levitz Furniture until she retired twenty years later.

Evelyn enjoyed entertaining her family and friends with delicious dinners and she loved taking her grandchildren to William Land Park and Funderland. Evelyn and Jack enjoyed traveling including two exciting trips to Europe.

Evelyn was a faithful believer in Jesus since her youth. She taught Sunday school classes when her children were young and enjoyed attending Bible studies. She passed her faith to her family and impacted countless lives with her kindness and love. We celebrate now, as she is with Jesus and all of her loved ones who passed before her. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters Teri Richardson (Robert Richardson Sr.) and Tami Moyes (Steven Moyes), grandchildren Robert Richardson Jr., Kristine Phillips, Bryan Richardson, Jonathan Moyes, Christopher Moyes, Michael Reed, Matthias Reed, Mitchell Reed and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Edward Jestes, her son Timothy Edward Jestes, her parents Birl Love Wismer and Violet Marie Campbell and her sister Virginia May Winston.

Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Ashland, Oregon.
