Fay Ann Hill, age 87, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away on April 21st. Fay was born on April 18th, 1939 in Colville, Washington to Fay and Pegge Camp. She grew up in Colville and graduated from Colville High School in 1957. Fay married Barney Hill in 1962, and together they shared 28 years of marriage - cut short by Barney’s death from cancer in 1990.
They started their life together in Spokane. Barney’s job at the telephone company took them to Virginia, the Philippines, and finally Hawaii, where she lived until moving to Coeur d’Alene in 2016 to be near her brother.
Fay and Barney enjoyed sailing and were members of the Outrigger Canoe Club. They had numerous traveling adventures, including to China, Thailand, Europe, New Zealand, the US and Canada.
While in Hawaii, Fay volunteered with the League of Women Voters. Fay enjoyed reading and playing dominoes. In her younger years, she was an avid golfer, even getting a hole-in-one. She also enjoyed bowling in leagues for many years, traveling with her team to tournaments in Las Vegas and Reno. Her final decade was spent enjoying new friends in her adopted home of Coeur d’Alene.
Fay is survived by her nephew, Shawn Camp (Kendall), niece Carla Euhus (Loren), sister-in-law Brenda Camp, great niece Abby Hubbard (Alex), great nephews Ben Euhus, Hudson Camp, and Silas Camp, and many great friends whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney, her parents, and, recently, her brother, Mike Camp.
The family wishes to thank all the lovely people at Orchard Ridge Assisted Living and Hospice of North Idaho for taking such good care of Fay during her last days.
