Fred Lambert

April 3, 1933 — January 18, 2022

Fred Lambert

Fred Gilbert Lambert, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle passed away on Jan. 18th after suffering a stroke.  Fred was born to "shorty" and Wanda Lambert on April 3, 1933 in Deer Park, Washington.

Fred grew up around horses, securing his future adult life as a jockey.  He rode very successfully, more than 30 years at Coeur d' Alene Playfair, Yakima Meadows, Seattle as well as tracks in Arizona, Colorado and Canada.  He continued working at Playfair in other capacities after his retirement from riding.  His riding career was interrupted briefly in 1951 when he served in the Army for two years or as Fred would always say "14 months and 17 days in Alaska."

A great fan of Christmas, he was well known in the 1980's and the 1990's for his beautiful light display.  He loved visiting with the people who came to enjoy the lights and rewarded them all with a smile and a candy cane.

He loved people, he never met a stranger.  He truly enjoyed visiting with everyone he came across.  and helping whenever and wherever he could.

Fred also loved the rodeo.  He worked the Coeur d' Alene Rodeo for several years until 2021.

He also loved camping and keeping busy just tinkering.

Fred leaves behind his wife of 43 years Mary, daughter Jodi, son Rick (Theresa) four grandchildren, Tim Rehfield, Adona Davie, Adrea Chichester, and Richard Lambert; four great-grandchildren Parker Davie, Savanna Davie, Cooper Chichester and Kennedy Chichester as well as several nieces and nephews who will all miss his smiling face and wonderful stories.
