Gabrielle Susan Phillips

Gabrielle Susan Phillips, affectionately known as “Gabby”, was born September 4,1959, in Orange, California. She peacefully left this world May 16, 2025, in Coeur d'Alene, leaving behind a legacy rich in love, laughter, and music.

Gabby was a dedicated professional who wore many hats throughout her career. She began her journey in education as a Teacher’s Aid with the Department of Education, where her compassionate nature truly shone through. Later, she transitioned to roles as a Collector Agent for Wells Fargo and as a Tax Compliance Officer for the State of Idaho. Her work was always infused with a commitment to helping others, embodying her joyful and welcoming spirit.

Gabby graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1978, and pursued further studies at Riverside Community College. Her love for music was evident early on, leading to her acceptance into the Young Americans in 1978. A gift that would continue to flourish, she later had the honor of singing at Carnegie Hall in 1991. Those who had the pleasure of hearing her sing were always captivated by her beautiful second soprano voice.

A woman of deep faith, Gabby maintained a profound devotion to Jesus throughout her life. Her free-spirited nature ensured that holidays were always vibrant and filled with joy, reflecting her unwavering ability to see the lighter side of life. With a compassionate heart and a wonderful sense of humor, she was a comfort to those around her, spreading warmth and laughter in every moment she shared.

Gabby was a loving mother to Tara Rebecca Stiller and Richard Dale Cook II. She proudly embraced her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren—Keefer Kegley, Dylan Mitchell Stiller, Anna Cook, Caleb Cook, Ella Rebekkah Stiller, Ethan Cook, and Benjamin Cook. Family meant everything to her, and she cherished each moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

Her siblings, John Yegge and Cecilia Carter, along with her children, will forever carry the light of Gabby's spirit within them. Also deeply missed is her late daughter, Tawnia Ramona Cook, who found peace before her.

Throughout her life, Gabby loved RV camping and cherished the time spent with family and friends around a campfire or on the open road. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious, and she had a remarkable ability to bring people together, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Gabby Phillips will be remembered not only for her numerous accomplishments but most importantly for her loving nature, fierce loyalty, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the love she shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
