Gaylord Bartlett Chamberlin (Bart) died January 16th, 2023, peacefully at home after being discharged from Kootenai Health the day before. He was born July 31st, 1926 in Bend, Oregon to Gale and Jean (Richards) Chamberlin. The family moved to CDA a year later. 
 
Bart Married Dorothy McClure in 1949 and had 6 children. He then married Evelyn Marley in 1958 and adopted 3 children. He then married Marge Petro in 1982, Sandy Smith in 1985 and was married to Bonita (Carlson) Waters in 1991 until his passing.
 
Bart served during WWII in the Army’s 9th Infantry Division. He was stationed in Germany out of Camp Hood and Fort Lewis. 
Bart graduated from CDA High School in 1944, University of Idaho in 1949 with a BS in Chemistry/Biology and a Masters in Parasitology in 1950. 
 
Bart worked primarily in sales, first with Lederle Pharmaceutical’s, then New York Life and finally with several promotional and advertising companies including Vernon Co., Singleton Co., and Kaesar-Blair Co. up until his death. Chances are that you have had a pen or calendar from one of Bart’s clients over the years. 
 
Bart was very active in the boy’s AAU basketball program during the ‘70s as a coach. He also enjoyed playing tennis, boating and was a die-hard Seattle Mariners/Seahawks fan. 
 
Bart was pre-deceased by his parents, adopted son Kevin Chamberlin and step-son Rusty Carlson, locally. He is survived by his wife, Bonita Carlson-Chamberlin, daughters Ruth Ann Chamberlin, Nancy Chamberlin, Sandra Hanover, Patricia Lodmell, Karen McArdle, son James Chamberlin, adopted children Kara Chamberlin, Kurtis Chamberlin, sister Kay Cory, step-children Jeff(Kate) Carlson, Rick(Shelley) Carlson, Jerry(Jackie) Carlson, Jim Carlson, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
 
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
