George Alva Cress

George was born February 8th, 1935 in Spokane WA to Etta and Ira Cress. He passed away on July 17th, 2026 at the age of 91.

He is survived by his wife Edith Cress, their three sons Clarence (Julie), Keith (Sue), Darrell (Joanne), 8 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

George was raised in Inchelium, WA. He met Edith Kline of North Port, WA at a dance, and they later married on June 6th, 1959. They purchased a ranch in Medimont, ID in 1960, where they raised a family and cattle, and farmed until 2016.

George drove school bus for the Kootenai school district for 13 years. During his time with the school district He was also the bus superintendent and bus mechanic.

George was a man of few words, but always had the classic George smirk on his face everyone still see’s when they think of him. He was a cattle rancher through and through, spending long days caring for his herd and tending to his land. He was deeply dedicated to his family and his ranch.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 22nd at 10:00am at English Funeral Home 1133 N. Fourth St. Coeur d’ Alene, ID.
