George William Dollman, Jr., 95, of Post Falls, ID, passed away April 15, 2019, at The Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene, ID. He was born February 7, 1924, in Glendale, OH, to George Sr., and Emily (Schmitt) Dollman.
Thanks to my Lord and savior, I met the love of my life, Barbara, at a Catholic 50-50 dance in 1949, married in 1951 and was blessed with 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and added 2 more grandchildren and 3 more greats through the years. I was the youngest of 5 and grew up in Glendale Ohio. Mother died when I was 5, so my sisters, Rita and Dorothy raised me while Dad worked hard to provide for us during the depression. We were poor, but I never wanted for more. I graduated from Ohio State, spent 4 years in the US Army and then moved west to California.
Barbara passed just shy of our 60th wedding anniversary. We both believed strongly in and tried to live the life of faithful Catholics. I depart with many good memories of our travels, the friends we had, family vacations and I regret nothing. I was not afraid to die, I welcome the fact that I will be with my wife and my Savior.
My wish for the world would be peace and that I prayed for with my daily rosary. Cry not for me, for I have been saved.
