Gregory Paul Schmidt

Gregory Paul Schmidt passed away at his home in Post Falls May 19. He was 68 years old. Greg was one of 6 children and the youngest son of Frank and Pearl Schmidt. He grew up in Coeur d’Alene and attended Coeur d’Alene High School. After graduating, Greg started in the construction trade and became an accomplished finishing carpenter. He took great pride in his work and generously came to the rescue of family and friends that needed help with a project. Later in life, he was the primary caregiver for our mother who passed away recently. We are eternally grateful for the loving care he provided for her during her later years. Greg developed a love of gardening and raised beautiful flowers and vegetables at their home. He loved family, friends, food, and the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, biking and being with friends. He is survived by 2 brothers: Tim Schmidt, Valleyford, WA. and Dick Schmidt, Post Falls, ID, 3 sisters; Jackie Rachunok, Hayden, ID, Cheryl Sieveke, Veradale, WA and Vickie Steven, Redding CA, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. His smile and easygoing personality were loved, and we cherish the time we had with him. He will be greatly missed. Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 30th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the St Mary’s Catholic Church, 304 S Adams Rd Spokane Valley, WA. Arrangements by English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, ID
