Hannah Marie Brown

Hannah Marie Brown passed away after an acute illness, at 43 years of age on Saturday, November 11th 2023, surrounded by her family and closest loved ones. Born on September 11th, 1980 in Coos Bay, Oregon, she moved with her parents to Bonners Ferry in Northern Idaho. Hannah spent her childhood enjoying her extended Lederhos and Puyleart families and countless cousins who made wonderful memories playing and frequenting the outdoors. As a teenager, her family moved to Coeur d'Alene where she enjoyed participating in theater with her many friends, teachers and community members, singing in the choir and studying voice, and planning camping trips and sleepovers. She attended NIC and later went on to meet and then marry the love of her life, Nathan Brown in 1998 after a minor car accident that changed the rest of their lives. They had two uniquely talented and loving children together, Emily and Skylar. She enjoyed her career and her beloved coworkers at U.S. Bank until she experienced a substantial injury, leading to her subsequent disability after failed attempts at rehabilitation. Hannah was an incredibly generous and kind woman who always put others above herself. Acts of kindness and compassion were how she showed her love to each and every person who walked into her life. When she wasn’t reading a book on her porch with a cat or two on her lap and a dog at her side, she could usually be found crocheting something to gift to someone. She put countless hours into making handmade blankets or stuffed animals, enormous and delicious pasta and macaroni salads for gatherings, as well as delectable baked goods for loved ones. Card games like Cribbage and Rummy were some of her favorite summer pastimes, and her scores always put her competitors to shame. Hannah’s humor and sarcasm could put a smile on anyone’s face. Her beautiful spirit and soul touched the lives of many, and she will continue to live on in them.

Hannah leaves behind her husband of 25 years, Nathan Brown, his parents and siblings, children Emily and her fiancée Christian, Skylar Brown and his partner Rain, Hannah’s parents Gretchen and Mike Coats and Steven and Sue Puyleart, Sue's daughters Amy and Angie and their families, as well as her brother, Ben Puyleart and his wife, Carly and their children John and Ava, her brother, Sam Rainey, and sister, Grace Coats and husband AJ, and so many more close family and friends.

They welcome anyone whose life Hannah touched to join them for her memorial at St. Pius X Catholic Church on December 2nd at 11am, reception to follow.
