Ione Margaris

Ione Valentine Margaris, age 102 passed away peacefully Aug. 11, 2021, at a local Hospice facility. She was born Feb. 14, 1919, in Spokane, Wash. She attended John Rodgers High School, while her final high school year was at North Central so she could graduate from the same high school as her mother. She is predeceased by two brothers; Jack and Walter, and one sister Vesta Mae.

She raised three children, William, Shirley, and David while residing at Fairfield, Wash. She loved spending time with 13 Grandchildren, 18 Great grandchildren, and 15 Great Great grandchildren. Ione followed one of her mother’s traits of always keeping busy by watching over grandchildren, sewing clothes and toys, or working a part time job.

Ione’s home was the focal point of nearly all family events. Her door was always open and she would always make room for more. She was determined to provide for her children the best way she could, which required many sacrifices.

No services are planned. Gifts and donations should be directed to Hospice, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
