Jack W. Shinn

Jack W. Shinn, 92, of Hayden, ID, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025 with his family by his side. He grew up in Otis Orchards, WA, farming apples with his family. A proud veteran, he served 20 years as an aviation mechanic and retired ADRC US Navy. Jack was an avid gardener, loved riding his bike, camping, woodworking, and hunting in his younger years. He enjoyed his retirement years traveling with his wife, soaking up the sun, and spending time with loved ones. A man of faith, Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Jack is survived by his wife Cherie, to whom he was married for 70 years and 363 days, and his children, Paul and Sandy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Dorothy Shinn, and his son, Todd.

His memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on August 4 at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery at 1 pm. A celebration of life will be held in September, TBA.
