James Huntley Gordon, 90, passed away Oct. 11, 2016, with his daughter by his side in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
James, also known by many as Jim, was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Sausalito, Calif., to Victoria and James Gordon.
James joined the Navy in 1943, completing boot camp at Farragut Naval Base in North Idaho. After fighting in World War II and returning home, Jim provided for his family as a plumbing contractor for more than 40 years. He later retired to Coeur d’Alene and continued his ombudsman work, enjoying his time visiting the “old folks.”
He is survived by his eight children: Steven, Victoria, Tama, Danée, Larry, Kevin, Craig and Bryant; as well as seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Gordon.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene.
