James Eugene Heuett

James Eugene Heuett, age 85, passed away at Schneidmiller Hospice House on October 28, 2022. He was born in Grand Forks, BC, on June 20, 1937, to Charles E. and Grace Heuett. The youngest of four children, he grew up on a farm in Malo, Washington.
Jim attended school in Curlew, Washington, where he graduated with honors in 1955. He worked on the family farm and various mechanical and logging jobs until he met the love of his life Nancy Shalz who was a waitress in Athol, Idaho. They both immediately fell in love and were married on July 16, 1966. 
Jim and Nancy settled down in Rathdrum, Idaho, where they raised their 3 children. For many years they worked side by side in the woods logging. Jim continued working in the logging industry as a truck driver throughout the rest of his career. In 1988, Jim and Nancy moved back to her homestead in Athol to start their hobby farm. Their love story lasted 55 years until Nancy’s death in July, 2021. 
James is survived by son, Michael Heuett and wife, Misty of Athol, ID; daughter, Pattee Templin, husband, Bob of Worley, ID; daughter, Sue Ward, husband, John of Rathdrum, ID; grandchildren Robert Foxx, Amber Heibert (Ryan); Tyler Ward (Reagan); Jordan Kirby (Tom); great-grandaughter Margot Kirby; brother Charles R. Heuett of Post Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy; both of his parents; his brother Marvin Heuett and his sister Norene Roth.
A graveside memorial is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Pinegrove Cemetery, 6693 W. Highway 53 in Rathdrum. Donations may be made to Hospice of North Idaho - Schneidmiller House 2290 W Prairie Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.
