James Roger Johnson

James Roger Johnson, 89, of Hayden Idaho passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024 at Wellspring Meadows Assisted Living.  Jim as he was fondly known was born on May 13, 1934 in Madison, Wisconsin to Oscar and Ruth Johnson.  He was one of five children, 3 girls and 2 boys.  Jim entered the Navy in 1951 and served as a Radio Operator and Radarman aboard the USS Renshaw during the Korean War.  His eyes always sparkled when talking about his Navy days. He married Myrna Lee Plock in 1955 and was a butcher at Harry’s IGA in Spokane for several years after they were first married. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Myrna.  He is survived by his sister Karen (Barry) of Spokane; his three children Darrell (Cindy) Johnson of Hayden, Idaho, Roger (Cecelia) Johnson of Spokane, Washington, and Christine (Tom) Escajeda of Tumwater, Washington, his grandchildren and one great granddaughter. The family would like to thank the staff of Wellspring Meadows for the loving care they gave Jim during his time there.
