Janet Louise Fristoe

Janet Louise Fristoe, age 80, passed away March 31, 2023, at home in Hayden, ID. Janet was born November 5, 1942, in Coeur d’Alene to Bob & Leona Patzer, the eldest of three girls. She graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School with the class of 1960. In 1961 she met Ron Fristoe, and on November 22, 1963, they were married.

Early in their marriage, Janet & Ron lived in Medford & Grants Pass, OR returning to the Coeur d’Alene area, to take over the family dairy farm, in 1973. She was a part owner of Kater Belles catering service and worked in the kitchen at North Idaho College. In 1992, they returned to Medford where Janet was a chef and baker with Fountain Plaza and Pioneer Village, retiring in 2008. In 2020, she moved back to North Idaho where she lived until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Tim Fristoe and oldest son, Rick. She is survived by her husband, Ron, at home, son Randy Fristoe in Virginia, daughter Rhonda (Don) Ellis of Post Falls, ID, sisters Sharon (Leo) Erickson of Rathdrum, ID & Cristie (Mike) Rudie of Logan, UT. She leaves behind grandchildren Jessica (Gerald) Chalkley, Patrick Fristoe, Lewis Ellis, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will not be a formal service, but a commemorative gathering will be held Sunday, April 16th, 2023, 1pm -4pm at the American Legion, 1138 E Poleline Ave, Post Falls, ID.
