Jan Litzenberger, a loving mother, grandmother, wife, friend, mentor, and educator, left this Earth on September 13, 2021. Jan was born on October 23, 1951 in Moscow, Idaho to Marybell and Lee Dean.
When Jan was two years old, her family moved to Post Falls where she lived her entire life. After graduating from Post Falls High School in 1970, she fell in love and married her husband Dan Litzenberger on August 5, 1972.
Not only was she a loving mother to her two sons, Tim and Bill, but she was a caring adult to so many children spending over 30 years guiding special education students at Seltice Elementary School. She had a knack of being able to get the most challenged students to succeed in the classroom with her special loving touch.
Jan loved playing Bunco with her friends, playing Bingo, watching classic movies, and most special to her heart, spending time with her two grandchildren Caleb and Elizabeth.
Jan is survived by her husband of 49 years Dan Litzenberger, her two sons Tim Litzenberger (Marisa) of Richland, Washington and Bill Litzenberger of Post Falls, grandchildren Caleb and Elizabeth Litzenberger, and sister Julie (Gene) Schlender of Bothell, Washington. She was preceded in her death by her parents Marybell and Lee Dean.
A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
