Jeffrey Lynn Gallup

Jeffery Lynn Gallup was born October 6th, 1952, in Van Nuys, California, to Bedent Bernard Gallup and Lorraine Lynn Gallup.  After a full life of love and kindness, Jeff left us to be with The Lord on July 20th, 2023 at the age of 70. Jeff's love lives on through his wife Barbara Gallup, Daughters Brandi (Bryan) Turner and Erica (Dustin) Miller, Step-son Bob Smotherman, Grand-daughter Penelope "PJ" Miller, Step-grandsons Tyler (Rachel) Smotherman, Cody (Jordyn) Smotherman, Hayden (Stephanie) Smotherman, and Jesse Smotherman, and 3 great grandchildren, as well as so many others who knew and loved him over his lifetime.

Jeff may have been a simple man but he was larger than life and loved by so many. He gave off the persona of a big tough guy, which he was when the time was right, but he had a huge heart - so full of kindness to share with anyone he encountered. Jeff worked many jobs over the years, from taking over his parents travel agency, to accounting and eventually to sales, but was always proud that his family did some sort of work in transportation, for many generations. One of the things that made him so good at sales was his ability to get to know people. He was quite a talker and would be happy to have a conversation with just about anyone, about just about anything. He had a gentle ear and a warm hug for anyone who needed it. He was an earthly and spiritual man who based his life and raised his family with the core belief that you "Do unto others as you wish them to do unto you." Jeff was always one to fight for the underdog and lend a hand to those in need. Jeff's happiest moments were in the times he was with his family, in nature, or sharing in an intellectual conversation. If Jeff could leave the world with one last impression it would be a lesson of kindness. Share a smile with a stranger, a compliment to an acquaintance, a hug with a friend and a memory with a loved one. Today is only now and tomorrow is never promised, love is today.
Services for family and close friends will be held on August 6th, 2023. For anyone interested in attending, please contact English Funeral Chapel at 208-664-3143. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to stvincentdepaulnorthidaho.org in his name
