     Jo West was born on March 23 rd , 1953, in Sweet Home, Oregon. She passed away on Thursday, September 21 st , 2023, at her home in Athol, Idaho. She was 70 years old. Her parents were Lloyd Jacobson and Dorothy Cook (Drowne). Jo had a sister named Carol Cook. She was common law married to Raymond West.
     Jo attended grade school in Sweet Home, Oregon through the 9 th grade.
     Jo worked at canneries, tree farms, and as a nurse’s aide in nursing homes in Oregon. After moving to Fernwood, Idaho she worked in a shake mill, bartended, worked as a teacher’s aide and was known for babysitting many of the local kids. She later moved to Coeur d Alene, Idaho and worked at a Zips restaurant and finally at Advanced Input Devices.
     Jo developed a passion for doing crafts. She would decoupage pictures, napkins, and anything she could get her hands, to put on cutting boards, cardboard boxes, vases and make bouquets of flowers. She loved to research information on the computer. Ask her anything about history and she knew the answer. She was known for listening to music from any era and shopping at thrift
stores. One of her true loves were all her pet dachshunds she had over the years.
     One of Jo’s favorite things was making people laugh. She had an immense sense of humor. She was very quick witted with her one-liner comebacks and uncanny remarks. She had a knack for putting a smile on anybody’s face that she was around.
     Jo is survived by her partner in life Jerry Ryen, a loved relationship of 32 years. A daughter Malissa (Mike) Howell Hayden, ID, granddaughter Rebecca (Adrien) Rosamond Puyallup, WA and grandson John Oliveira Jr. Everett, WA. Sister-in-law- Joyce Crawford, Coeur d Alene, ID, nephew - CJ (Savannah) Crawford, Colorado Springs, CO, niece- Julie Crawford, Coeur d'Alene, ID and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched. She loved them all.
     There will be a celebration of life at 4255 E Wildlife Trail, Hayden Idaho from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 7 th , 2023.
