Joan Rhoades

Joan Rhoades (Joanie Balkcom) was born in Orange, Ca. and grew up in Anaheim, Ca. She attended Paul Revere Elementary, Ball Jr High and Katella HS. Joan was raised in Anaheim and fostered lifelong friendships that endured until her last days. She lived in the OC for many years before moving to the Northwest and marrying the love of her life Nick.  She is survived by Her Husband Robert (Nick) Rhoades, and children Andrew Balkcom (Kristina), and Daniel Rhoades. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren Deja, Avery and Lucy. She was proceeded in death by her beloved daughter Hannah Rhoades.

Joan is proceeded in death by her parents Jackie and James. She is also the youngest of 4 siblings and is survived by Patricia E. Balkcom, Leroy L. Balkcom (Denise), Linda L Curtis (Daniel). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan achieved an AA degree from Spokane Community College and leveraged the knowledge into a long career as a medical billing analyst. Joanie was such a presence. She always had a kind word for all people she met throughout her day.

Joan was a light that burnt out too soon, but we take solace knowing she is out of pain and reunited with her Hannah!
